Budgam, Dec 28 (TKM): Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with Fitness Sports Club Budgam, on Sunday organised a Half Marathon Run under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26 in Budgam.
The marathon started from the Sports Stadium Budgam, went up to Sheikhpura Petrol Pump, and concluded back at the Sports Stadium, covering a distance of around 13 kilometres.
More than 80 local athletes from different parts of the Valley participated in the event. The marathon was flagged off by DySP Headquarters Budgam Sajad Ahmad, JKPS, along with the SHO Police Station Budgam, in the presence of other police officers.
Before the start of the race, DySP Headquarters interacted with the participants and spoke about the importance of sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle among the youth. He encouraged young people to take part in sports activities and stay away from social evils.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which medals, mementos and certificates were awarded to the winners and participants. Refreshments were also served to all those who took part in the marathon.(TKM)
