Kishtwar, Jan 28: Heavy snowfall triggered a landslide in the remote Kuntwara area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday, killing around 70 to 80 sheep and goats, officials said.

The landslide hit a livestock shelter in Hasti village, burying animals belonging to Sachin Kumar, a local resident, under debris. No human casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, they said.

Officials said the loss of livestock has caused substantial economic damage to the affected family. The district administration has been informed about the incident.

Local residents have urged the authorities to assess the damage and provide relief and compensation to the victim.(KNS).
