Srinagar, Apr 18 : The Srinagar administration’s top priority is to ensure a seamless and safe journey for Haj pilgrims, Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo said on Saturday after flagging off the first 2026 Haj convoy from Bemina.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) DC Labroo said arrangements at the Haj House were reviewed over the last two to three days in coordination with the district police to ensure pilgrims face no difficulties.

“We are happy that we are able to contribute to their pilgrimage, facilities, and arrangements,” he said.

Officials said the first convoy of Haj pilgrims from the Union Territory was flagged off from the Haj House at Bemina, marking the start of this year’s pilgrimage season.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar and the SSP (security) were present during the review of arrangements, they added.

The deputy commissioner said a ceremonial flag-off will also take place from the airport. (KNS)
