Srinagar, Mar 31 : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday dismissed social media claims of a paper leak in the Fire Services recruitment examination, saying the matter was still under investigation and no final conclusion had been reached.

In a statement, the ACB said claims circulating on the social media handle ‘J&K Services Selection Board Aspirants’—that the bureau had confirmed a leak and that action was taken against only 106 candidates—were “misleading and not based on officially established facts”.

“The ACB has not confirmed any paper leak at this stage. The matter is currently under investigation, and no final conclusions have been drawn by the competent authorities,” a spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said any assertion presenting the investigation as a confirmed finding was “premature and inaccurate”. The identification of a specific number of candidates, he added, was part of an ongoing and evolving investigative process.

“Actions such as cancellation of candidature or other administrative measures are taken strictly on the basis of prima facie evidence available at a given stage and in accordance with due legal procedures. This should not be misconstrued as the investigation being limited in scope or excluding other potential findings,” the spokesperson said.

The public and aspirants have been advised to exercise caution and rely only on official updates from competent authorities, the statement added. (KNS)
