Srinagar/Jammu, Sep 3 : The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, Jammu and Kashmir, has announced the closure of all Government Degree Colleges, GCETs, and private colleges across the Union Territory on Thursday, September 4, 2025, due to prevailing inclement weather conditions.
In an official order (No. 90-DC (HE) of 2025) issued on Wednesday, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director of Colleges, J&K, stated that the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and security of students and staff throughout the region.
The order applies to all higher education institutions in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Authorities have advised students and staff to avoid unnecessary travel during the period of severe weather.(KNS).
