Pahalgam, Jun 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling Shri Amarnath Yatra for devotees, asserting that the administration is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims from across the country.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) after chairing a high-level review meeting at Pahalgam, one of the two base camps for the annual pilgrimage, LG Sinha said the preparedness across all departments and security agencies has been thoroughly assessed.

“Today’s meeting was attended by officers from all departments, including security agencies. I am confident that all arrangements have been made in a very proper manner,” LG Sinha said.

The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the role of local residents in welcoming the pilgrims, expressing confidence that the traditional hospitality of Kashmir would be on full display during the yatra.

“I want to tell the pilgrims coming from across the country that the locals here are fully ready to welcome them,” he added.

The 52-day Shri Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 3 and will conclude on August 23, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Pilgrims will have the option to undertake the journey via the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district or the shorter 14-km Baltal track in Ganderbal district. (KNS)
