Srinagar, Jul 8 : The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday issued a fresh advisory for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, asking pilgrims to strictly follow the registration process and safety guidelines.

The daily pilgrim cap, fixed as per the Supreme Court’s directions, remains in force, an official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Devotees have been advised to complete advance registration and undertake the yatra only on the date mentioned in their permit.

Tatkal or on-the-spot registration is available only in limited numbers and subject to availability, the administration clarified. Unregistered pilgrims have been urged not to proceed towards the yatra route and wait for their confirmed travel date.

Registered yatris will not be allowed to travel before their scheduled date, and early arrival will not permit early movement towards the holy cave shrine, the advisory said. Unregistered pilgrims already present in Jammu and Kashmir have been requested to cooperate with authorities.

Every registered devotee will get an opportunity to perform the pilgrimage as per the prescribed procedure and daily capacity, the administration said, appealing to all pilgrims to maintain discipline and follow safety protocols the official said.

Notably, The Department of Information and Public Relations said public cooperation was vital for a safe and peaceful yatra, and adherence to norms would help in smooth movement and effective crowd management. (KNS)
