Srinagar, July 30 (TKM): The “Kashur Riwaaj 2025” Cultural Festival, held in Baramulla, celebrated Kashmir’s rich heritage with record-breaking participation from the youth. The event was organised by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps in collaboration with the District Administration of Baramulla.

The festival aimed to revive traditional Kashmiri art forms, promote youth engagement, and spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

A major highlight of the event was the setting of two world records, certified by the Universal Records Forum (URF). The first was for the largest Ladishah performance, with 20,000 students performing across 162 locations in the district. Ladishah is a traditional Kashmiri folk form that blends satire, humour, and storytelling to comment on social issues

The second record was in Kalamkari (calligraphy), where 18,350 young participants wrote the patriotic verse “Saare Jahaan Se Achha” in traditional script, showcasing unity and national pride.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who attended the event, praised the youth for their achievements and appreciated the Army’s role in preserving Kashmiri culture and promoting peace.

The success of Kashur Riwaaj 2025 highlights the strength of Army-civil collaboration and the role of cultural revival in shaping a positive future for Kashmir’s youth. Participants expressed pride in being part of the historic event, calling it an unforgettable experience.(TKM)
