New Delhi, July 30 (KNS): Travel company EaseMyTrip has withdrawn as a sponsor for the India-Pakistan semi-final in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, just hours after India reached the last four with a solitary win in the tournament.

Founder Nishant Pitti announced the decision on X, congratulating Yuvraj Singh-led Team India for qualifying but stressing that “terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand.”

“We applaud Team India for making the nation proud. However, the upcoming semi-final against Pakistan is not just another game. We cannot support any event that normalises relations with a country that promotes terrorism.Nation first, business later. Jai Hind,” Pitti said.

Earlier in the tournament, India had forfeited their group-stage match against Pakistan after several players, including Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh, pulled out over geopolitical tensions. Dhawan later reaffirmed he would not play in the semi-final either.

India booked their semi-final spot by chasing 145 against West Indies in just 13.2 overs, powered by Stuart Binny’s unbeaten 50 off 21 balls. England and West Indies were eliminated as India joined Pakistan, South Africa and Australia in the final four.(KNS)
