Srinagar, Sept 11: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday congratulated Indian para archer Sheetal Devi on winning the gold medal in the Women’s Compound Individual Event at the World Archery Para Series 2026, Stage III, in Ahmedabad.
The Chief Minister said Sheetal’s remarkable achievement, along with her bronze medal in the Compound Mixed Team Event, was a proud moment for the entire nation.
He wished the 19-year-old World Champion continued success and greater laurels in her future endeavours.
Sheetal defeated Kazakhstan’s Aizada Seidan in a dramatic shoot-off after the gold medal contest ended in a 144-144 draw.
The Indian archer shot a 10 with her shoot-off arrow, while Seidan managed a 9, securing the title for Sheetal at the Sabarmati Riverfront.(KNS)
