Srinagar, Dec 6 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday wrote to the Chairman of the J&K Public Service Commission (PSC), urging the body to consider postponing the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2025, citing disruptions in air travel and logistical challenges for candidates.

In his letter, Abdullah noted that the ongoing disruption in air services across the region has created widespread travel chaos for aspirants.

He said the situation is further compounded by delays in decisions regarding age relaxation provisions, which have been extended multiple times in the past. “Together, these factors have placed unprecedented mental and logistical stress on the competing candidates,” he wrote.

The Chief Minister emphasized the principles of fairness, equity, and equal opportunity for all aspirants, and urged the PSC to take cognizance of the prevailing circumstances and consider postponing the examination for a reasonable duration, purely in the interest of the candidates.

Abdullah expressed confidence that the Commission would take a compassionate and balanced view of the matter in the larger public interest.

The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination is scheduled to be conducted by the J&K Public Service Commission as part of the recruitment process for various administrative posts in the union territory.(KNS).
