Srinagar, Nov 30 : The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir on Sunday said that it has filed a chargesheet against a police official in an alleged job scam case.

The chargesheet in FIR No. 15/2025 under Section 420 of the IPC has been submitted before the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Pulwama, the CBK said, as per KNS.

According to officials, the case was registered against Riyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar and a resident of Naroo Ratnipora, Pulwama, for allegedly deceiving multiple individuals on the pretext of securing government jobs.

Dar, serving as Head Constable with Belt No. 53/IRP 21st Battalion (ARP No. 993957), is accused of misusing his official position to collect money from job aspirants.

The EOW Srinagar had earlier received credible information about the alleged fraudulent activities, following which a preliminary enquiry was initiated at Police Station EOW Srinagar.

The probe found prima facie evidence indicating that the accused had taken money from several persons with false promises of state employment, officials said.

After the allegations were substantiated, cognizance of the matter was taken and a formal FIR was registered.

The subsequent investigation established criminal conduct amounting to cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, punishable under Section 420 of the IPC, officials added.

The chargesheet has now been produced before the court for further judicial proceedings.

The Crime Branch Kashmir stated that it remains committed to ensuring accountability and taking firm action against corruption, fraud and other economic offences.(KNS).
