Directs Mega Awareness Drive Across 402 Panchayats to Achieve 100% Saturation

Baramulla, January 19: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today chaired a review meeting at the DC Office Meeting Hall to assess the status of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) cases in the district. The meeting focused on evaluating progress, identifying gaps, and finalising strategies for achieving 100 percent saturation under the scheme.

During the meeting, the chair was apprised of comprehensive details regarding the total number of KCC accounts in the district, including active accounts as well as zero-balance, inactive accounts and targeted interventions towards success of the scheme.

The meeting held an in-depth discussion on strategies to ensure complete coverage of eligible beneficiaries under the KCC scheme. Emphasis was laid on strengthening outreach mechanisms, improving coordination among stakeholders, and addressing issues leading to inactive and zero-balance accounts.

During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned officers to organise a mega awareness drive across all 402 Panchayats of District Baramulla to reach out to eligible farmers, zero balance and left-out beneficiaries to ensure their enrollment under the KCC scheme.

The DC further instructed the departments to maintain a consolidated and updated branch wise database related to KCC applications received, processed, approved, and pending which will serve as a key monitoring tool to track progress.

Meanwhile, Minga Sherpa directed the concerned authorities to personally reach out to zero-balance and inactive KCC account holders and take necessary steps to activate their accounts with an objective to enable these beneficiaries to fully avail the benefits of the KCC scheme .

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Nisar Ahmad, Lead District Manager, Manzoor Ahmad and other district and bank officers.
