Srinagar, Nov 12 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the recent blast in Delhi, calling the incident “heart-wrenching” and urging authorities to conduct a fair and transparent investigation.

“The blasts that took place in Delhi were heartbreaking. Especially for those who lost their lives it’s a tragedy beyond words. What’s even more painful is that some doctors are being named. These doctors are among the most intelligent and educated; they are the brains of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mehbooba said as per KNS.

She added, “If, after a clean investigation, these allegations turn out to be true, it will be a moment of deep worry for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Muslims. Not only are our best minds being wasted, but it also leaves a stain on our community. I hope the probe will be fair and completed soon.”

Commenting on the Budgam elections, the PDP chief said, “We will know about it day after tomorrow. I can’t say anything now, but once the results are out, only then can we comment in the right way.”

Earlier, Mehbooba welcomed Kaisar into the PDP, describing him as a politically active and dedicated individual. “He understands the vision and commitment of PDP and Mufti Syed. His joining will strengthen our team,” she added.(KNS)
