Dr. Farooq visits Qazigund, attends Namaz-e-Janazah of Peerzada Gh Ahmad Shah

Srinagar, 14 Feb : The President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, today joined thousands of mourners in offering the Namaz-e-Janazah of veteran party leader and former minister Peerzada Gh Ahmad Shah at Jamia Masjid Qazigund.

The huge gathering reflected the deep respect and admiration the late leader commanded across the region. 

Senior party colleagues and South Zone legislators including Dr. Bashir Veeri, Abdul Majid Bhat Larmi, Peerzada Faroz, Provincial Secretary Syed Tawqeer, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar also participated in the Janazah prayers.

Health Minister Sakina Itoo also visited the bereaved family at their residence in Qazigund and offered heartfelt condolences.

On the occasion she prayed for peace to the departed soul and much needed strength to bereaved.

Dr. Farooq remained present throughout the entire duration of the last rites, sharing in the collective grief of party members, well-wishers and the bereaved family. 

Later, he visited the family at their residence and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to his wife, Son Shabir Ah Shah, Peerzada Faroz and the bereaved. Accompanied by party leaders, he prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family during this difficult time. He described Peerzada Gh Ahmad Shah as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the people will be remembered for years to come. (KNS)
