Baramulla, Apr 25 : Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, assumed charge as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the North Kashmir Range (NKR) on Saturday.

An official spokesperson said Dr. Kumar took over the charge at the Range Police Headquarters in Baramulla. He succeeds Maqsood-ul-Zaman, IPS, who has been posted as the DIG of Armed Police, Kashmir.

Upon assuming office, Dr. Kumar underscored his commitment to ensuring dedicated, transparent, and corruption-free policing in the range, which is considered crucial for security in the region.
