Udhampur, July 28 (TKM): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma, on Monday conducted a detailed review of the District Election Profile of Udhampur during his official visit.

During the meeting, Verma interacted with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and took stock of preparations, including the training status of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and updates on the ERO Net system.

The review meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, SDM Chenani Dr. Ranjeet Kotwal, SDM Ramnagar Rajinder Rana, Deputy District Election Officer Neeraj Bhargav, and other officials.

Verma reviewed key areas such as rationalization of polling stations, training of BLOs, and the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at each polling location. These include drinking water, electricity, toilets, ramps, and proper signage.

“Polling stations must offer a smooth and inclusive experience to every voter. All basic facilities should be in place,” the CEO emphasized.

He also underlined the importance of boosting voter turnout in Udhampur and directed officers to strengthen the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in the district.

Earlier, Deputy District Election Officer Neeraj Bhargav gave a detailed presentation on the current status of polling stations, infrastructure needs, and rationalization proposals under process. (TKM)
