Anantnag, Mar 23 : Police have registered an FIR against a hotel in Pahalgam for allegedly concealing the stay of foreign nationals and violating mandatory reporting norms under the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025.

Officials said that during a routine inspection in the Dehwatoo area, authorities found that 23 foreign tourists, including 19 British citizens, had checked into a hotel in Laddi area on the evening of March 22.

The hotel management failed to inform Police Station Pahalgam and did not submit the required Form ‘C’, thereby breaching security protocols, they said.

An FIR (No. 18/2026) has been registered at Police Station Pahalgam under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation has been initiated, a police spokesman said.

The District Police Anantnag has urged all hotel operators to strictly adhere to the legal requirements for reporting the stay of foreign guests to avoid similar action in the future. (KNS)
