Five CRPF personnel injured in Qazigund road accident

Srinagar, Aug 18 Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel sustained injuries on Tuesday after a truck collided with their bunker vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, officials said.

The accident occurred at Levdora area of Qazigund when a truck (JK02DU-4386) rammed into the CRPF bunker vehicle (JK02CG-5795), causing the latter to turn turtle, they said.

All five injured personnel were shifted to the MI Room of the 163 Battalion CRPF at Qazigund for medical attention. Their condition is stated to be stable, with injuries described as minor, the officials added.

The injured have been identified as Inspector Raj Kumar Tiwari, Sub-Inspector (GD) Rajinder Singh, ASI (GD) Lovenday, ASI (GD) Umesh Kumar and Head Constable (Driver) Virender.

A police team has reached the spot and initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision, they said. (KNS)
