Srinagar, December 24 : Fresh snowfall in Gulmarg, coupled with the smooth functioning of the Gondola cable car, has acted as a catalyst for a slight rise in tourist influx at the famous ski resort.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS), visitors from different parts of the country were seen arriving in Gulmarg to enjoy the fresh snowfall. While the Gondola remained a major attraction for tourists seeking snow experience and panoramic views.

Long queues were witnessed outside the Gondola terminals, reflecting increased footfall. To manage the rush, the concerned department put special arrangements in place to facilitate visitors.

A tourist from Delhi said that the fresh snowfall made Gulmarg look beautiful. The Gondola ride was smooth and gave us an amazing view of the snow covered mountains, he said.

Another visitor from Kerla said, that this was my first snow experience. The Gondola ride was well managed and worth the wait. The snowfall made the trip very special for us, he added.

Tourists expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and said the snowfall made their visit memorable. Local stakeholders also reported improved activity, bringing relief to those dependent on winter tourism.

To the overall experience, the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation recently upgraded several services, improved chairs and grips, better maintenance of facilities, development of water bodies, and new restaurants along the Gondola route have enhanced comfort and convenience for tourists

Officials said tourist inflow may increase further in the coming days due to upcoming New Year celebrations. Gulmarg is expected to witness more rush as visitors plan holiday trips to welcome the New Year amid snow-covered landscapes.

Meanwhile authorities have urged tourists to follow guidelines and cooperate with officials to ensure a safe and pleasant experience.(KNS)
