Srinagar, Jan 14 : Girls have outperformed boys in the Class 12 annual examination, the results of which will be declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) after 2 pm on Wednesday, officials said.

According to officials, the overall pass percentage in the examination stands at 84.02. A total of 70,735 students from the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of the Jammu division appeared in the examination, out of which 59,435 candidates qualified.

Officials said the pass percentage among boys was recorded at 82 per cent, while girls registered a higher success rate of 86 per cent.

Chairman JKBOSE Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said the results would be officially declared after 2 pm and made available on the same platforms used for the declaration of the Class 10 results.

“All students are advised to wait for the official declaration of the results,” he said.

He cautioned students against relying on unverified or fake links circulating on social media platforms, including WhatsApp groups, and advised them to access their results only through official channels.

The JKBOSE chairman said further details, including district-wise performance and stream-wise data, would be shared after the declaration of results.

The Class 12 annual examination was conducted across centres in the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of the Jammu division under arrangements made by the board, officials added.(KNS)
