Srinagar, Oct 8 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday ordered a reshuffle in the police administration, transferring and posting several IPS and JKPS officers in the interest of administration.

According to Government Order No. 484-Home of 2025, issued by the Home Department, Abdul Ghani Mir, IPS (AGMUT:1994), who was awaiting orders of posting, has been appointed as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF, J&K, thereby relieving Alok Kumar, IPS, of the additional charge.

Among other key transfers, Mohd. Yaseen Kichloo, IPS (AGMUT:2013), has been transferred from SSP CICE Jammu and posted as Principal, STC Talwara, while Shobhit Saxena, IPS (AGMUT:2015), SSP Kathua, has been appointed as SSP Security, J&K.

Tanushree, IPS (AGMUT:2017), serving as SP SIA Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as SSP Pulwama, replacing P.D. Nitya, IPS. Sahil Sarangal, IPS (AGMUT:2017), has been posted as SSP Handwara, succeeding Mushtaq Ahmad.

Mohita Sharma, IPS (AGMUT:2017), AIG Provisions, has been appointed as SSP Kathua, replacing Saxena. Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS (AGMUT:2017), has been transferred and posted as SSP Kulgam, succeeding Sarangal.

In the JKPS cadre, several officers have also been reassigned. Mohd Arif Rishu has been posted as Director, CTC Lethpora; Benam Tosh as Deputy Director, SKPA Udhampur; and Harmeet Singh Mehta as Commandant, 13th IR Battalion.

Other notable transfers include Javid Iqbal as AIG, Counter-Terrorism & Intelligence; Mohd Fiesel Qureshi as SSP, Economic Offences Wing, Jammu; Ramnish Gupta as SSP, CICE Jammu; Aijaz Ahmed Zargar as SSP, Bandipora; and Mushtaq Ahmad as SSP, Shopian.

Additionally, several officers who were awaiting postings — including Ashiq Hussain Tak, Owaise Rashid, Sarfaraz Bashir Ganai, Gh. Mustafa Bhat, Shahzada Kabir Mattoo, and Ashish Gupta — have been assigned to various battalion-level positions in the IRP and JKAP units.

The order, signed by Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, stated that the transfers and postings take immediate effect.(KNS)
