Srinagar, Sept 9 : Weather is likely to remain mostly dry across Jammu and Kashmir till September 20, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers possible at isolated places, the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.
According to the MeT Centre, weather is expected to remain generally dry from September 9 to 12, though brief spells of rain may occur at isolated places during the period.
From September 13 to 16, brief spells of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely at a few places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours, it said.
The weather is likely to remain mostly dry again from September 17 to 20, with isolated areas potentially witnessing brief spells of rain.
A MeT official said no major weather system is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir during the coming days. However, local weather conditions could trigger brief rainfall or thunderstorms at some places.
Meanwhile, the department has advised farmers that weather conditions are generally favourable for agricultural activities, including harvesting of apples and paddy.
Farmers have been advised to plan their agricultural operations keeping in view local weather conditions.
The department said further forecasts and advisories would be issued if there is any significant change in the weather situation.(KNS)
