J&K admin promotes 24 police inspectors to DSP rank

Srinagar, Apr 13 : The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday approved the promotion of 24 police inspectors to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the general cadre of the Union Territory.

An order issued by the Home Department, Government Order No. 222-Home of 2026 accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) stated the elevation of the officers with immediate effect. They will be placed in Level 8 (47600-151100) of the Pay Matrix.

The list of promoted officers includes Riyaz Mustafa, Mir Zahid Hussain, Arif Ahmad Ahangar, Ashwani Kumar Angotra, Nasir Syed Kirmani, Tahir Ahmed Qazi, Iftikhar Ahmed Mir, Ramesh Kumar Pandita, Raj Kumar Dhar, Sunil Kumar Ganjoo, Javid Akhtar, Ajay Bhat, Arun Kotwal, Vijay Kotwal, Mohd Arif, Shabir Ahmad, Kulbir Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Chaman Lal, Sanjeev Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Jagjiven Ram, Naveen Angral, and Som Raj.

The order, issued by Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti, said the promotions are subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s) pending before any competent court.

The decision was based on recommendations from the J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Police Headquarters (PHQ), the notification added. (KNS)
