Govt Monitoring Temperature; Summer Vacation Decision Soon

Srinagar, June 11 : Minister for Education Sakina Itoo on Tuesday said the government is monitoring the ongoing rise in temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir and will take a decision on summer vacations in schools soon.

Speaking to reporters, Itoo assured that authorities are closely observing the situation and will respond in the interest of students and schools. “We are watching the temperature levels carefully and a decision regarding summer vacations will be made shortly,” she said.

Minister also addressed an alleged incident involving a Class 3 student at Presentation Convent School in Srinagar. “We are aware of the matter. I have spoken to the Director of School Education, and an investigation is underway,” she stated, adding that strict action will be taken if any misconduct is found.

Speaking on tourism, Itoo highlighted Kashmir’s natural appeal. “Kashmir is more beautiful than many other places. We want tourism to grow here because it directly supports the livelihood of our people,” she said. (KNS)
