Srinagar, Nov 15 : Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed grief over the accidental blast at Nowgam Police Station in Srinagar, which claimed nine lives.

In a post on X, LG Sinha said the government stands with the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased. “Deeply anguished by the loss of precious lives due to an extremely tragic accidental blast. My condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. I have ordered a probe to ascertain the cause of the explosion,” he added.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as per KNS also conveyed his sorrow, extending sympathies to the families and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

The blast killed nine people, including a State Investigation Agency (SIA) officer, a Naib Tehsildar, and a tailor. Thirty-one others were injured when a stockpile of explosives, seized from the Faridabad terror module, detonated accidentally inside the police station.(KNS).
