Budgam, May 5 : The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday led a ‘padyatra’ in central Kashmir Budgam district as part of the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan’, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the march saw participation from students, youth, civil society members, and district.

Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha as per KNS underlined the need for community participation in combating drug abuse and called upon the youth to stay away from narcotics.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to take strict action against drug peddlers while simultaneously focusing on awareness and rehabilitation measures.

The event ended with a pledge to support a drug-free society, officials added. (KNS)
