SRINAGAR, MAY 04 : In a significant step to bolster emergency healthcare infrastructure in the Kashmir Valley, PARAS Health Srinagar has launched its advanced Emergency Response (ER) services, integrating rapid-response systems, cutting-edge medical technology, and specialised clinical teams.
The initiative is designed to elevate critical care standards and align the hospital’s emergency services with international benchmarks, with a special focus on ensuring swift medical intervention during the critical “golden hour” — the immediate window following a trauma or medical emergency when timely care can drastically improve survival chances.
Facility Director Dr Murtuza Habib said the move reflected the hospital’s commitment to delivering prompt, high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Senior Consultant and Head of Emergency Response, Dr Wasil Rasool Sheikh — who holds an MBBS and MEM from Northwell Health and the Global Academy of Emergency Medicine — said the upgraded services would enable the team to manage complex emergencies with speed and precision.“Timely intervention during the golden hour requires a highly responsive and coordinated emergency team to save lives,” he added.
Medical Superintendent Dr Shafat Ahmad Kennu noted that a robust ER system was crucial for improving patient outcomes and ensuring timely care across the region. Consultant Dr Yasir Allaqaband stressed that seamless collaboration across specialties would enable faster and more effective responses to critical cases.
