LG Sinha meets Kalmykia Head, Discusses Bilateral cultural events

Srinagar, Oct 18 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday met Batu Sergeyevich Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, and held discussions on strengthening cultural and spiritual cooperation between the two regions.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to Khasikov for facilitating the grand visit of the holy relics of Lord Buddha to Kalmykia.

“The holy relics visit to this land is also testimony to the long-standing relations that India and Russia have shared over the decades. India and Russia will complete 80 years of diplomatic relations in 2027, and we in India are looking forward to marking this important milestone by organizing a range of bilateral events and activities,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He further said that an India Festival is being planned in Kalmykia for April 2026. He said India would make every effort to ensure that the event is a grand success.(KNS)
