Srinagar, Apr 8 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has prorogued the Union Territory’s Legislative Assembly, bringing the session to a formal end, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a bulletin issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the order dated April 7, 2026, was issued by the Lt Governor in exercise of powers conferred under Section 18(2)(a) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
As per the order accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), “The Lieutenant Governor has prorogued the Legislative Assembly with immediate effect,” the bulletin said.
The development formally concludes the proceedings of the House session. (KNS)
