Srinagar, Apr 21: A day before the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army on Tuesday warned that any transgression of humanitarian limits would invite a “decisive response”, asserting that the nation stands united in its resolve against terrorism.
In a post on social media platform X, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI), as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), said: “When boundaries of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive. Justice is served. India stands united.”
The post was accompanied by a poster that read: “Some boundaries should never be crossed. India does not forget.”
The warning came on the eve of the April 22, 2025 attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists, killing 26 people, including 25 tourists and a pony ride operator.
In the wake of the attack, the Indian military launched retaliatory strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) on May 7 under “Operation Sindoor”. The three-day operation ended with a ceasefire announcement on May 11 at 5 pm.
Meanwhile, Security has been intensified across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack.
An official told the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that senior officers are holding preparatory meetings to finalise a security plan, with a focus on religious shrines, tourist hubs, and vital installations across the Union Territory.
Officials said a QR code-based identification system has now been introduced for tourism service providers in Pahalgam to enhance visitor safety and ensure better monitoring. (KNS)
