Srinagar, July 26 : Top government leaders paid tribute to Indian soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas, marking the 25th anniversary of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil conflict.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the day stands as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice shown by the soldiers who laid down their lives defending the country’s borders. He said their bravery will continue to inspire coming generations.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a defining moment in the country’s military history.Referring to Operation Vijay, he said Indian soldiers drove back enemy forces and set an example through their determination. He said the country will always remain grateful to those who lost their lives in service.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid homage to the fallen soldiers. He said the actions of the armed forces during the Kargil war highlight their sense of duty and resolve. He said India will never forget their contribution.(KNS).
