Srinagar, Sep 22: President of the Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Association, Mushtaq Chaya, on Monday said that with the tourist season beginning in October, it was important to open several destinations currently closed for visitors.

“Travel partners from Mumbai and Maharashtra visited us and expressed concern that many tourist stations in Pahalgam, Doodhpathri, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Tangmarg remain closed,” Chaya told Kashmir News Service (KNS).

He added that the delegation met hoteliers, houseboat owners, and taxi operators in the Valley and stressed the need for promotion of Kashmir as a destination ahead of the autumn season.

“We have already raised this request with the Chief Minister so that these tourist spots are opened before the season begins,” Chaya further said.(KNS)
