Srinagar, Aug 5 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the people of the Union Territory have neither forgotten nor reconciled to the changes brought about seven years ago, as he reaffirmed his party’s commitment to reversing the 2019 constitutional decisions.

In a social media post on the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, CM Omar Abdullah said his party and he personally remain dedicated to restoring the rights and identity that he claimed were taken away from the region.

“My party & I remain committed to reversing all that was done to J&K that took away our rights & threatens our identity,” the National Conference leader wrote on Facebook.

“7 years, we haven’t forgotten & we haven’t reconciled far less accepted our current circumstances,” he added.

The Chief Minister further added in his post with a couplet from American poet Robert Frost: “The woods are lovely, dark & deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep……”

Meanwhile, National Conference senior leadership MP Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan, along with Sajad Kichloo and Shammi Obera, joined the INDIA Bloc leaders in a protest at Parliament demanding the immediate restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir. (KNS)
