Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNS): Hours after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah compared him with MP Mian Altaf, saying there was a “difference between earth and sky” between the two, and remarked that the National Conference had “enough leaders” to campaign in Budgam, MP Aga Ruhullah on Monday responded sharply, saying the real fight was for Kashmir’s existence and not a personal one.

“There is no time for a personal fight here. Kashmir is currently fighting an existential crisis,” Ruhullah said while addressing media, as per KNS.

He questioned the party leadership on its promises made during the 2024 elections, including the restoration of Article 370 and the creation of one lakh jobs in five years. “In one year, where has that fight gone? Where are the 100,000 jobs that were promised? Only 20,000 have been given. Can anyone give me their address?” he asked.
Ruhullah also raised concerns about detained youth in Kashmir. “Thousands of our youth are locked up in jails without trials. Do they know their address? What have they done so far for them?” he asked.

He said the people had given the National Conference a mandate and that the promises made to them must be fulfilled. “The importance is not of Ruhullah or any individual. The importance is of that hope, that agenda, that responsibility, that mandate which people have given us,” he said.

Ruhullah also questioned the government’s response to what he described as attacks on Kashmir’s cultural and religious identity. “Can you tell me the address of those attacks? What was our fight against them? Has that fight been destroyed?” he said.

Ending his remarks, Ruhullah said he had no personal importance in this matter. “If someone wants to make their ego an issue, they can. I don’t care. Ruhullah’s identity has no importance. The importance is of the people’s fight and their expectations from us,” he said.(KNS)
