Srinagar July 4 : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V. K. Bidhuri, said that for the third consecutive year, the Jammu and Kashmir administration allowed the 8th Muharram procession along its traditional route. Thousands of mourners will participate in the procession amid heightened security and volunteer support.

Talking to media V K Bidhuri said that Arrangements have been made by the Health Department, and adequate security has been put in place. Volunteers are also actively assisting to ensure the procession is conducted in an organized and respectful manner,” he said.

“We request all mourners to remain focused on the true purpose of the procession and refrain from altering its nature in any way, he said.

The core message of the procession is peace and prosperity, and it is important that this message is clearly conveyed and upheld, he added. (KNS)
