Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extends greetings on Gandhi Jayanti

Srinagar, Oct 01 (TKM) : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

In his message of felicitation, the Chief Minister said that Gandhi Ji’s timeless teachings of truth (Satya), non-violence (Ahimsa), peace and humanity hold greater significance in today’s world, which continues to grapple with conflict, divisions and social discord.

“Gandhi Ji dedicated his entire life to the service of humanity. He waged an unwavering struggle against social evils such as untouchability, the caste system and inequality, and stood for justice, compassion and equality of all,” the Chief Minister said.Omar Abdullah emphasized that Gandhi Ji’s philosophy continues to inspire generations across the world and remains the guiding light for building a society based on tolerance, harmony and brotherhood.

“The need of the hour is to imbibe his principles and walk on his path of truth and non-violence to create a just and inclusive society,” the Chief Minister observed.

He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, to draw inspiration from Gandhi Ji’s life and to uphold the values of peace, communal harmony and mutual respect in their day-to-day lives.(TKM)
