CM Omar Abdullah Hears Public Grievances at Srinagar Outreach

Srinagar, July 18 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a public grievance hearing at his Srinagar Raabita office on Thursday as part of the government’s weekly outreach programme. A number of individuals and delegations from across Jammu and Kashmir met the Chief Minister to share their issues and demands.

Among the visitors was Prof. Iqbal S. Hasnain, Padma Shri awardee and Member of the Board of Trustees at the National University of Science and Technology, Muscat, Oman. He presented his book “Fault Lines in the Faith” to the Chief Minister. Prof. Hasnain also serves on the Executive Committee of Hamdard University and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

Javid Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), discussed various trade-related concerns with the Chief Minister, highlighting the challenges faced by the business community in the Valley.

A group of international martial arts players also called on the Chief Minister to seek continued support for athletes from Jammu and Kashmir, especially in terms of training, exposure, and career opportunities.

Leaders of the Kashmir Labour Union Federation brought up the urgent need to strengthen the Jammu and Kashmir Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB). They requested faster approval of welfare funds and early appointment of the Board’s Chairman to safeguard the rights of thousands of workers.

Delegations from areas including Beerwah, Inderwal, Baramulla, and others raised local issues affecting their regions.

Representatives from minority communities also shared their concerns and urged the government to act on pending matters.
The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all deputations and assured them that their genuine concerns will be looked into with priority. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to responsive and inclusive governance.(KNS)
