Srinagar, Jan 22 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday concluded a series of pre-Budget meetings with various administrative departments ahead of the presentation of the upcoming Budget.

An official spokesperson said the meetings focused on departmental priorities, expenditure requirements, and policy initiatives to be taken up in the next financial year.

The discussions were aimed at aligning departmental proposals with the government’s broader development and governance objectives.

The Finance Department has been directed to incorporate the inputs, suggestions, and priorities that emerged during the consultations while finalising the Budget, the spokesperson said.

Omar stressed the need for realistic budgeting, efficient utilisation of resources, and outcome-oriented planning, officials said.

He also underlined the importance of ensuring that allocations address public welfare, infrastructure development, and service delivery.

The pre-Budget consultations are part of the government’s annual exercise to ensure wider administrative participation in the Budget formulation process, officials added.(KNS).
