Srinagar, 23 Sep (TKM) : Chief Minister and MLA Ganderbal, Omar Abdullah, has approved a total of ?377.10 lakh under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to support various development initiatives across the Ganderbal constituency. The sanctioned funds aim to strengthen civic infrastructure, healthcare, education, and community services, reflecting the government’s commitment to holistic development in the region.

A major portion of the fund, ?67 lakh, has been allocated for the procurement of a high-end ultrasound system at the District Hospital Ganderbal. This addition is expected to significantly enhance diagnostic facilities, ensuring better healthcare services for residents of the constituency and neighboring areas. Officials stated that the new system will provide advanced imaging capabilities, improve patient care, and reduce the need for patients to travel to distant medical facilities for specialized diagnostics.

Beyond healthcare, the sanctioned funds will be utilized to upgrade education infrastructure, including renovation and modernization of school buildings, provision of laboratory equipment, and improvements in digital learning facilities. These initiatives aim to create a more conducive environment for students and enhance the overall quality of education in Ganderbal.

The development package also includes allocations for civic amenities and urban infrastructure, covering the construction and repair of roads, proper drainage systems, and street lighting in various localities. Community facilities such as parks, public spaces, and recreational centers will also receive funding, promoting social welfare and improving the quality of life for residents.

A senior official in the district administration stated, “The funds approved by Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are targeted to bring visible improvements across healthcare, education, civic infrastructure, and community services. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision to ensure equitable development in all regions, particularly focusing on the needs of local communities.”

The announcement has been welcomed by local representatives, community leaders, and residents, who expressed optimism that the sanctioned funds would bring much-needed relief and development to the constituency. The projects are expected to be implemented in a phased manner, with regular monitoring to ensure transparency and timely completion.

This allocation under the CDF highlights the proactive approach of the government in addressing key developmental challenges and prioritizing citizen welfare. The comprehensive utilization of funds across multiple sectors is expected to enhance healthcare delivery, improve educational outcomes, strengthen civic infrastructure, and foster community well-being.

The Chief Minister, while sanctioning these funds, emphasized the importance of efficient implementation and accountability. “Our focus remains on delivering tangible benefits to the people of Ganderbal. These funds are meant to bring real changes on the ground and improve the standard of living of our residents,” Omar Abdullah said.

With the sanctioned ?377.10 lakh, Ganderbal constituency is set to witness significant upgrades in health services, educational facilities, urban infrastructure, and community amenities, reflecting a holistic development approach and the government’s commitment to responsive and inclusive governance.(TKM)
