DDC Baramulla Approves ₹115.31 Crore District Capex Plan 2025-26 for 3,510 Developmental Works

Baramulla, July 11 (TKM) : In a significant stride towards grassroots development and inclusive governance, the District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, under the chairmanship of the DDC Chairperson Safina Baig, today approved the District Capex Budget for the financial year 2025–26 amounting to ₹11,531.92 lakh. The plan was approved during a comprehensive District Council meeting held at Dakbanglow Baramulla.

The approved Capex Plan includes ₹9,981.53 lakh for 2,446 new developmental works and ₹1,550.39 lakh for 1,064 ongoing works, totaling 3,510 works across key sectors such as rural infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, roads, and social welfare.

At the outset, Chief Planning Officer Baramulla presented a detailed sector-wise Capex Plan before the Council, outlining allocation priorities, performance metrics of the previous year, and expected outcomes for the upcoming financial year.

The meeting was attended by Member Legislative Assembly Baramulla, Javed Hassan Baig; MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar; MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah; MLA Wagoora-Kreeri, Advocate Irfan Hafeez Lone; Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; District Development Council Members; and senior officers of the District Administration.

During deliberations, the Members of Legislative Assembly shared key suggestions, urging focus on critical public service sectors such as roads, drinking water, education, and healthcare. They emphasized the need for equitable geographical distribution of projects and prioritization of people-centric and high-impact initiatives. The MLAs also lauded the inclusive and consultative approach adopted by the district administration in framing the plan.

In her remarks, DDC Chairperson Baramulla appreciated the proactive participation of elected representatives and officials in shaping the Capex Plan. She underlined that the approved works aim to ensure balanced and inclusive development, reflecting the aspirations of the people. She also stressed the importance of timely execution, transparency, and accountability by all implementing agencies.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to quality execution and community participation. He highlighted that the Capex Plan represents a collective resolve for people-first, results-driven governance, aiming to elevate service delivery and quality of life across all areas of the district.

With the plan now approved, the District Administration is poised to begin implementation, ensuring accelerated progress and stronger development outcomes across Baramulla.(TKM)
