DSEK Revises School Timings Amid Heatwave

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced revised school timings for both government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir Division, effective from June 21, 2025.

Srinagar June 20 : The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced revised school timings for both government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir Division, effective from June 21, 2025.

According to the order a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), reads that the new timings for schools falling within the Srinagar Municipal limits is from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and for schools falling outside the municipal limits of Srinagar District and other areas of Kashmir Province is from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

“The order/instructions shall be adhered to strictly by all the concerned institutions. Any deviation in this regard shall be viewed seriously,” the order reads.

The timings have been changed in view of soaring temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir. Summer Vacation has also been announced for ten days from July 1, 2025.(KNS)
