“Yatris will have a good experience, security is LG’s responsibility, rest is on us”

Ganderbal, June 21 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, during his visit to Ganderbal on Saturday, reaffirmed his commitment to the people of the constituency, stating that he chose not to change his seat out of a moral obligation to those who elected him.

“The people of Ganderbal have done me a favour by electing me as their MLA. I feel a moral duty to serve them. While I have responsibilities across the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir, I will not let down the people of Ganderbal,” Omar Abdullah said, addressing a public gathering.

He also strongly defended the role of elected MLAs across the Union Territory, responding to criticism from various quarters. “MLAs have been elected for a term of five years, and we have well-qualified representatives who are capable of delivering. However, attempts are being made to defame them. Our MLAs will present their report cards, and those who criticize them should be ready to present theirs as well,” the Chief Minister stated.

Speaking on preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra according to KNS, Omar Abdullah expressed confidence in the arrangements being made and assured full support to the pilgrims.

“I am sure Yatris will have a good experience. Security is the responsibility of the Lieutenant Governor. As for medical facilities and infrastructure, that is our responsibility, and all necessary arrangements are being taken care of,” he added. (KNS)
