Srinagar, July 21 : The District Administration of Srinagar on Tuesday issued a weather advisory warning residents and tourists of heavy to intense rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir, including the summer capital, till July 23.
Citing forecasts from the India Meteorological Department and the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, the advisory urged people in landslide-prone and high-altitude areas—including Lidwas, Dagwan, Harwan, Dara, and Astanmarg—to remain alert and evacuate immediately if water levels rise or signs of landslides are observed.
All shikara operations and recreational boating on Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake have been ordered suspended for the duration of the alert. Sand miners along the River Jhelum have been strictly advised against mining or river-crossing activities until weather conditions are verified as safe.

The advisory has been circulated to the Divisional Commissioner, SSP Srinagar, SDRF, NDRF, and other line departments for necessary action.
