Srinagar, Sept 19 : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg (IAS), on Friday said that the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway is almost fully restored, with traffic movement continuing smoothly for the past four days.

He said nearly 5,500 trucks carrying fresh fruit have crossed towards Jammu in the last two days via the National Highway as well as the Mughal Road, ensuring timely transportation of Valley produce.

Garg added that supply of essential goods has remained uninterrupted since this morning and assured that the shortage of petrol and diesel will be addressed completely by this evening.

Appealing to the public to avoid panic buying, he said: “From this evening, the situation will ease considerably, and people will see clear improvement wherever shortages were reported.”(KNS)
