New Delhi, Mar 14 : The Jammu and Kashmir administration has made arrangements for the smooth return of dozens of students and pilgrims who are scheduled to arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Sunday morning from Iran.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association informed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the step was taken after it took up the matter with Nasir Sogami, an advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
National Convenor of Students Association (JKSA), Nasir Khuehami, told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), “We raised the matter with the CM’s Advisor, Nasir Sogami, regarding the students’ onward journey to ensure that proper transportation is facilitated upon their arrival.”
Following the intervention of the advisor, sleeper buses have been deployed to facilitate the safe and comfortable transportation of the students and pilgrims back to Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
Khuehmi informed that the sleeper coaches will be stationed in the parking area on the left side of the exit gate at the IGI Airport’s Terminal 3 to assist the arriving students.
These arrangements have been put in place to ensure a seamless transition for the returnees after their long and difficult journey from Iran via Armenia and Dubai.
The transportation will facilitate their onward travel to Kashmir and provide much-needed relief and support to the students and pilgrims who have endured a challenging situation amid the ongoing conflict in the region, he added. (KNS)
