Kupwara, Feb 12 : Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse on Thursday reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Lolab Festival scheduled to be held on February 15, stating that the event will serve as an important platform for tourism promotion as well as for the local population.
Speaking after an on-spot inspection, as per news agency Kashmir News Service-KNS, the DC said that a comprehensive review of preparations was conducted in coordination with SSP Kupwara and officers from various departments.
The DC said detailed discussions were held regarding cultural programmes, traffic management, security arrangements, sanitation measures and post-event cleanliness to ensure smooth conduct of the festival.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all departments have been directed to make arrangements up to the mark and ensure coordinated efforts for the successful conduct of the event.
Highlighting the significance of the festival, DC Suse said it is being organised after the winter snowfall and is expected to attract large public participation. He appealed to people to actively participate in the Lolab Festival and make it a grand success.
The district administration has invited all stakeholders and the general public to join the celebrations on February 15 .(KNS)
