Security Forces Finalize Robust Republic Day Plan for North Kashmir

DIG Maqsood-ul-Zaman Chairs High-Level Meet, Stresses Synergy and Public Vigilance for Incident-Free Celebrations

Baramulla, Jan 22 : In a significant move to ensure foolproof security for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations, a high-level multi-agency security review was convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the North Kashmir Range, Maqsood-ul-Zaman (IPS), at the District Police Lines in Baramulla.

The meeting, characterized by a spirit of seamless coordination and collective responsibility, saw the participation of senior officers from a wide spectrum of security and intelligence agencies. These included the Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), the District Senior Superintendents of Police (SSsP) of the North Kashmir Range, Armed Police, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Fire & Emergency Services.

Deliberations centered on a meticulous analysis of recent security developments and specific intelligence inputs, with a paramount focus on pre-empting and thwarting any potential attempts by anti-national elements to disrupt the peace.

Officers examined a comprehensive range of security parameters. These include intensified area domination exercises, the strengthening and round-the-clock operation of strategic checkpoints (nakas), enhanced surveillance of National Highways, and rigorous CCTV monitoring.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe protection of vital installations and minority communities, close monitoring of social media and VPN usage, preparedness for local law and order contingencies, and the continuous analysis of local intelligence were also thoroughly discussed.

A detailed review was conducted of the security plans for Republic Day event venues and their perimeters, emphasizing layered protection and stringent access control protocols.

Presiding over the meeting, DIG Maqsood-ul-Zaman underscored the critical importance of operational synergy among all forces. He stressed that joint drills, proactive counter-measures, and real-time intelligence sharing are indispensable for ensuring completely peaceful and incident-free celebrations.

The DIG further highlighted the vital role of public cooperation in the security architecture. He urged citizens to maintain a high state of community vigilance, promptly report any suspicious activity, and extend their full support to the security forces in preserving peace and harmony.

The meeting concluded with all agencies reaffirming their unwavering commitment to work in the closest coordination. The collective resolve is to leave no stone unturned in safeguarding the dignity of the national event, ensuring that Republic Day celebrations across North Kashmir are conducted in a secure, peaceful, and dignified manner.(KNS)
