GOI Orders Transfer of Senior IAS Officers From Delhi in Union Territories

SRINAGAR, JAN 31 : In a significant administrative rejig, the Union Government, through the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), on Saturday ordered the immediate transfer of several senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the Delhi government to key positions in Union Territories.

The directive, which comes into effect from the evening of January 31, 2026, is aimed at optimising administrative efficiency and experience across crucial regions.

According to official orders or which a copy lies with News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has relieved the officers in pursuance of the directions from the Union Home Ministry.

The transferred officers and their new postings are as follows Ms. Anjali Sehrawat (IAS:2013), currently serving as Director (Higher Education) & Director (TTE), has been transferred and posted to Jammu & Kashmir.

Hemant Kumar (IAS:2013), presently the Special CEO of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, has been moved to the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Dr. Kinny Singh (IAS:2014), who held the additional charges of Special Commissioner (Development) and Special Secretary (UD) with the Delhi Jal Board, has been assigned to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Ms. Vandana Rao (IAS:2015), serving as Deputy Commissioner (West), has also been transferred to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Kumar Abhishek (IAS:2016), the Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate (Outer North), is now posted to Jammu & Kashmir.

The reshuffle places experienced administrators in strategic roles, reinforcing governance structures in the Union Territories. (KNS)
