JAMMU, FEB 01 : The Jammu and Kashmir administration has directed its Finance Department and all Heads of Departments to remain open over the weekend to ensure preparedness for the upcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly.

An official order accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) stated that these departments will function on January 31 and February 1, which include Saturday and Sunday.

The decision, as per the order issued by the Finance Department, aims to facilitate the smooth conduct of budget-related work and ensure timely disposal of official matters preceding the session.

The order (No. 21-FD of 2026), dated January 30, 2026, and signed by Under Secretary to the Government, Vishal Kumar, JKAS, mandates full attendance and efficiency from all concerned departments to meet the session’s requirements.
